The influence of fire upon materials continues to make a strong impression when translated to the realm of painting. I am keenly aware of the infinite variety of patterns, sheen, textures and color impressions which can be created through various combinations of materials, varnishes, and treatments. The surface impressions created by my paintings act as a device to draw the viewer into their iconography.
